Law Enforcement for Youth Pig Bowl dates set

Law Enforcement for Youth's Pig Bowl fund raising public safety football game dates and locations have been set.

Since 1999, The Pig Bowls have been one of the many fund-raising events of Law Enforcement for Youth. The Pig Bowl is 11 man full contact football played by the members of public safety including Police Officers, Deputy's, Firemen, Paramedics, military personnel and more.

Law Enforcement for Youth is a nonprofit organization who's mission is to provide opportunities to low income, at risk, medically challenged youth and the programs that serve them.

General admission available at gate: $8 adults, $5 youth 6-17, 5 and under free

Learn about history, art and culture thanks to local museum

Ignite your imagination at the Washington County Museum on March 13.

The museum's popular monthly program engages kids of all ages in learning about history, art and culture. This month, find out about quilting and make your own quilt patterns with volunteers from the Westside Quilters Guild. Dress up in pioneer clothing and play with traditional toys such as Jacobs Ladders and pop-guns.

Local artists from the printmaking non-profit Print Arts Northwest will lead the art activities including "good luck books" with stamping, leprechaun Marionettes, green shamrock bookmarks, paper bag puppets. Free admission, cookies and juice. Donations welcome.

Stoller Middle School Celebrates 10-year anniversary

It's been 10 years since Stoller Middle School opened its doors. Some think that's no time at all. Others think those 10 years have flown by in the blink of an eye. If you've been part of Stoller's first 10 years, join students, families, current and former teachers and administrators for this 10-year celebration from 6-8 p.m. March 10!

Head out Saturday for a Hillsboro schools fund-raiser

Join the Hillsboro Schools Foundation (HSF) at 6 p.m. Feb. 27 as it celebrates its 10-year anniversary with an auction and gala at the Nike World Campus in Beaverton.

Enjoy a wonderful evening of fine food, Willamette Valley wines, and the chance to bid on exceptional items such as a luxury cruise and fabulous wine parties.

The evening supports HSF's mission to raise private funds to enhance public education for children.

Will Groner Elementary School change school districts?

Parents of students at Groner Elementary School will host a 7 p.m. meeting Wednesday in the school's cafeteria to discuss that the Hillsboro School District might have to give the Beaverton School District nearly 2,000 acres of land, potentially switching school districts for the school.

The fourth annual Northwest Family & Kids Festival will be held at The Washington County Fair Complex Feb. 13-14. 

The Northwest Family & Kids Festival is the only Family event of its kind on the Westside. The Northwest Family & Kids Festival offers an incredible amount of ideas for kids and families ranging from: entertainment, education, nutrition, health care, vacations, safety and more. There will be tons of family fun and games, music, arts and crafts, sports, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatable bounce houses and more. The Northwest Family & Kids Festival is an intimate, interactive event designed to help improve family life in Washington County.

Get your tickets now for the youth choir concert Feb. 13

In celebration of their fifth anniversary season, “Making Community Through Music”, the Hillsboro Community Youth Choir, directed by Cindy Uecker, Artistic Director, presents “Generations in Song”, a collaborative concert with the Cornell Chorale, from Cornell Estates Retired & Assisted Living , directed by Joyce White, and the Intel Singers, from the Intel Corporation, directed by Rob Archibald, on Feb. 13 at 3 p.m.

Do you know a teen who can sing well?

On Jan. 30, the finals of the Hillsboro Teen Idol competition will take place. 

The public is invited (audience entry fee - $2) to the Finals and will be asked to vote for their Hillsboro Teen Idol!

Finals will be held at the Cultural Arts Center (527 E Main St.) and begins at 1 p.m.

Pack 207 visits KATU

The Tiger scouts from Pack 207, which consists of first-graders from Cedar Mill Elementary, Bonny Slope Elementary and French American International School, got a tour of the KATU studios in northeast Portland this week.

KATU Reporter Shellie Bailey-Shah is their den leader and she took them to the set and showed them the newsroom. And in doing so, she helped them complete their Tiger badges!
