Great family bike ride | Sports & Recreation

Did you know that you can ride your bike easily from the Oregon Zoo to the Sunset Transit Center?  The Webelos of Pack 207 do!

The scouts recommend the following ride to families:

1) Park on the top level of the Sunset Transit Center.  Take bikes down the elevator to the Max platform.

2) Ride the MAX to Washington Park/Oregon Zoo.  Take bikes up elevator.

3)  Ride bikes out of Zoo parking lot onto SW Canyon Road.  It's an uphill ride here, but push on.

4)  Cross SW Skyline Blvd. and pick up bike path.  Follow bike path along Sunset Hills Memorial Park, up a small hill and over a bridge. 

5)  Turn right onto SW Pointer Rd. It's all downhill from here!  At the end of the street, turn right and return to bike path.  Follow bike path along Hwy. 26.

6)  At end of bike path, go straight and then turn left onto SW 96th Avenue.

7)  Turn right onto SW Wilshire St.  Just as go over Hwy. 217, turn right.  At the corner, turn left onto SW Park Way.  Just past the intersection, you'll see the entrance ramp to the pedestrian bridge over Hwy. 26.

8)  Ride over bridge, ending at the top level of the Sunset Transit Center.
