Woman arrested for DUII and assault after car crash

""

A woman was arrested for DUII and assault just before 6 p.m. on Nov. 16 after she rear-ended another car on SW Tualatin Valley Highway.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies initially responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of SW Tualatin Valley Highway (TV Hwy.) and SW 198th Avenue in Aloha.

Shawn Gronlund, 56, from Aloha, was driving her 2000 Dodge Intrepid west on TV Hwy. when she rear-ended 50-year-old Debra Marsetti, who was stopped at the light in her 1998 VW Rabbit. Both Gronlund and Marsetti were transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital via ground ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies investigating the crash determined Gronlund had been drinking alcohol and was too impaired to be driving. She was arrested for DUII and fourth-degree assault and was given a citation to appear in court at a later date.

Note: The photo of Gronlund above is from a 2007 DUII arrest. She was cited at the time of the crash, but not taken to jail because she was being treated at the hospital.

It's not her fault! The 12-step religious cult's "Higher Power" was busy that day and forgot to SPRINKLE His "One-Day-at-a-Time" magic dust on her!

August - you are a total wingnut.  12-Step programs are not religious cults, if they were, I would not have stuck around. I have been clean & sober 19+ yrs. because of AA and the 'one day at a time' is a choice I make every day ~ nothing to do with magic dust.

You might want to check out the next meeting of A-Holes Anonymous.

Can you say ALCOHOLIC?   Not to mention a habitual offender.   Disgusting.

I would be interested in knowing what she blew.  I know someone who blew a .32 and has been given diversion as his record was clean.  Sorry but blowing 4 times the legal limit just shows that you are active alcoholic and drink every day.  I don't think diversion should apply for those who have proven they are a professional drinker.

What I think is really sad, is the lawyers who get these habitual offinders off and get a reward for doing so.  All the very sick jokes one hears about how terrible lawyers really are makes one wonder if the jokes are not, well, TRUE!  I think lawyers should have a 12 step program and learn not to "ENABLE" these "DUII" type of people.  I heard one Salem traffic Judge was arrested on I 5 for DUI and was turned out to do it again! Make sure they are monitored and can't drive period.  (make over the limit drivers pay for and wear an ankle monitor) (one for the lawyer too!)

I'm pretty sure that most of the lawyers dealing with duii's are still on the bottom rung and trying to work their way up!  IT'S CALLED COURT APPOINTED! They probably don't get paid much more than the rest of us and they probably hate their jobs just as much.  As for duii, people make mistakes but some people choose to change!

It's about time she was "caught" and taken off the roads. Thank God the other driver was not seriously injured.
